BRO Board Back up

Post by Pconlon on Sun May 30, 2010 11:27 am

***** Apparently it's back in a depleted form. Old Sign in didn't work however. Also Moderator approval on new posts either as a General Rule or just pertaining to new Members (???)

Yes I registered with Detonate 95 but it won't let me post a message. Of course, I will keep this board running as long as you guys keep posting.

***** I'm not going to advise on the expenditure of another's money . I know it costs to keep any site going - but based on past History of the BRO site - sometimes some topics can become radioactive and incendiary. It's been awhile now - but this site as a backup to vent some emotion might be a reasonable idea.

Actually, this forum is hosted on a free web site, and it's not costing anything. Of course the features are somewhat limited, such as no photo gallery. And the worst part is that if I ever wanted to move the forum to a better site, I can't export anything.

I am on both. I don't know why you could not post interesting messages on both. To save typing, you could post on one, and just copy and paste on the other. As I have no way to transfer any postings made here to the other site, if you wanted to post a link from a thread on this site to the other site, you could post a message with the URL of the thread there. And vise-versa. For example:

Pat will put you in the lounge as soon as she sees you are signed up and recognizes you from the old board.

TP be sure you have the right / same email as when you registared with the old board. if not you have to change it.

I will hang on both for while.

PC don't be so critical it will smooth out

I know of no rule that Mods apporve new topics. If so I will move to eleiminate that, but I cannot see where you got that Idea.

I do not know where you see that Mods will approve all new topics. No one has told me that nor do I see where you see it. If it is true I will move to have it changed but I feel your wrong

Obe, when you first sign up, you are listed as a "New Member" and you can't post. You are automatically converted to "Member" a little later, then you can post. This happens very soon. I don't know what triggers it. But I'll bet the next time he signs in he will be able to post. That's the way it worked for me.

per Pat:

As before, people who are current Society members will be added to the Members-Only forums and if you were participating in the Lounge before, you'll be added back in there as well. I usually check for new registrations in the morning.

I had to sign in as a new member. I am glad they still have our old avatars listed. Good to hear that Detonate is not on the hook for this website. I'm glad we have both boards.

Things always slow down in the summer. Folks have other things to do.

I am pulling my hair out trying to sell our house. It's been six-months listed. Already found a new home, but owners I believe are getting frustrated because it is taking so long to sell my place. I hope to settle this before winter.

Good luck on getting your house sold. Not sure where you are or how the market is there but here in Phoenix it's terrible. Houses aren't moving at all. Hope it's better there for you.
